🛺 “Slayer” | James Trapp
Carson, California | Family roots in Pampanga, Philippines 🇵🇭
Slayer, handcrafted in Ibaan, Batangas, is more than a Filipino tricycle to James—the stories, smiles, and joy it brings to the Filipino community are what make it special. James joined CAL TODA for the brotherhood and camaraderie and especially values the fellowship among his fellow riders. For him, every ride is another opportunity to connect with people, celebrate Filipino culture, and create memories together. 🇵🇭🛺❤️

🛺 “Motorela” | Kristoffer “Ryan” Sotto
Los Angeles, California | Filipino Roots in Bataan 🇵🇭
Kristoffer “Ryan” Sotto is the founder and President of CAL TODA. His love for the iconic Filipino tricycle inspired him to bring a piece of the Philippines to the streets of Southern California through Motorela and Pinoy Tricycles Los Angeles.
What began with a simple love for tricycles—and the joy of giving people rides—grew into something much bigger. Ryan founded CAL TODA to bring tricycle owners and enthusiasts together, creating a community built around friendship, Filipino culture, and the unforgettable smiles these unique rides bring wherever they go.
For Ryan, Motorela is more than a ride. It represents the nostalgia, pride, and sense of community that inspired CAL TODA from the very beginning. 🇵🇭🛺❤️

🛺 “El Capitan” | QBall
Santa Clarita, California | Family roots in Manila, Philippines 🇵🇭
Inspired by the memorable “O Captain! My Captain!” from Dead Poets Society, El Capitan represents much more than a tricycle to QBall—it symbolizes his personal journey and his entire family. After being graciously invited to join CAL TODA, he happily became part of a camaraderie he describes as among the best he has ever experienced.
For QBall, what makes CAL TODA special is its mission of bringing people together through smiles, laughter, and nostalgia while celebrating a shared connection to Filipino culture and community. 🇵🇭🛺❤️

🛺 “Bansot” | Judee B
Carson, California | Roots in Cavite & raised in Angeles, Pampanga 🇵🇭
Bansot began as a passion project created by master builder Macy and quickly took on a life of its own. An experienced rider, Judee found her place in CAL TODA among others who share her love for riding and Filipino tricycle culture. What she treasures most are the relationships they’ve built and the JOY their tricycles collectively bring to communities—describing CAL TODA as “the Jollibee of Pinoy tricycles in America.” And her story isn’t finished yet: watch for “CHEDENG,” coming in 2027! 🛺🇵🇭❤️
Yatco (Joseph Yatco)
As the most senior rider of the CAL TODA family, Papa Jo and wife Belinda brings a special kind of joy, warmth, and wisdom wherever he goes. His love for riding and the happiness he shares with his family and fellow riders are a beautiful reminder that adventure has no age limit.
BossaBoss (Macy Jose)
Known throughout the CAL TODA family as “The Builder,” Macy Jose is Co-Founder and Vice President of CAL TODA. His journey with Filipino tricycles began unexpectedly when he spotted an abandoned tricycle along his truck route—an encounter that would ultimately change his life.
For Macy, the tricycle became much more than a vehicle. It renewed his sense of purpose and joy and strengthened his connections with friends, family, and colleagues. The change was so noticeable that people began asking if he had found God. Macy's simple response captured it perfectly:
“I just found my happiness.”
🛺 A deeper look into Macy's inspiring story—and how the tricycle helped change and, in his words, save his life—is coming soon.
“Kalesa” 🛺 | Rhon Jose
Oxnard, California | Originally from Bulacan, Philippines 🇵🇭
Rhon’s tricycle, Kalesa, was named after the traditional Philippine horse-drawn carriage and brings back fond memories of riding a kalesa during his childhood in the Philippines. He joined CAL TODA because the group feels like family, and he especially enjoys the bonding, camaraderie, and adventures of riding together to different places. Easygoing and easy to work with, Rhon enjoys creating new memories with his CAL TODA family while keeping a special connection to the memories of home. ❤️🛺🇵🇭
🛺 “WALASTIK” | Chito Pastor
West Los Angeles, California | Originally from Batangas City, Philippines 🇵🇭
WALASTIK—a classic Filipino expression of amazement and excitement—is a truly one-of-a-kind, hand-built sidecar paired with a classic 1993 Honda XR650L. An off-roader at heart, Chito built it in the early ’90s with help from European racer Doug Bingham. WALASTIK later spent five years at the Los Angeles Marathon, carrying NBC Channel 4 sports reporter Patrick Healy as he filmed and interviewed runners along the course. Chito became one of the group’s original riders after connecting with Ryan in 2023 and now enjoys the camaraderie and seeing Filipino sidecars together on the road. 🇵🇭🛺❤️
🛺 “Caviteño” | Ross Maigue
San Diego, California | Family roots in Tanza & Imus, Cavite 🇵🇭
Caviteño honors Ross’s family roots in Cavite and has an incredible history of its own. Ross has owned his tricycle for more than 30 years, and for many years it was the only Filipino tricycle in San Diego.
Its original paint and murals have remarkably withstood decades of time and weather. After meeting Ryan Sotto and bringing their vehicles together for a Filipino community event, Ross joined CAL TODA.
Today, he treasures the camaraderie of old and new friends and the smiles and fond memories their tricycles bring to those who remember riding them in the Philippines. 🇵🇭🛺❤️
“Caviteño” 🛺 | Gilbert Manalo
San Diego, California | Originally from Cavite, Philippines 🇵🇭
Gilbert proudly named his one-of-a-kind ride Caviteño, honoring his roots in Cavite, Philippines. He joined CAL TODA to support the Filipino community, build friendships, and meet new people along the way.
For Gilbert, bringing these special rides from the Philippines to the U.S. is an opportunity to showcase Filipino culture and heritage while sharing it proudly with others.
His message is simple: celebrate where we come from, represent our community, and always show our Pinoy Pride! 🇵🇭🛺❤️
